How do you plan to improve?

Please write a paragraph or two describing the different strategies you plan to implement in order to improve some of your speaking weaknesses.

  1. I do not have good eye contact. I think something to help improve my eye contact would be to look at everyone's noses or foreheads. The second thing that I could work on is not smiling or laughing while I am talking. One thing that I could so is think of something either sad and depressing or think of something boring. Another thing I can do ahead of time is practice keeping a straight face. For example, every time I smile I would need to give away a quarter.

  2. I can improve by speaking in a conversational tone of voice and speaking with everyday vocab. I just need to concentrate on what I'm ssaying more and make sure that what I am saying is accurate.

  3. The major area of improvement I feel I need is in my cadence and or flow of how I speak. I need to pause more. Other then that, there isn't much that I see I need improvement on. Not to sound conceited, but I am very comfortable with speaking, and I spend much of my time perfecting my speaking techniques.

  4. I need to work on not smiling, the lilt of my voice, and sounding like I am not giving a speech. I think by focusing on the importance of what I am saying, I may smile less. I am open to suggestions on how to control my tone. Frankly, I have no idea how I would go about achieving that. As for talking like I am speaking to one person; I will pick someone I the audience and attempt to talk like I am speaking solely to them.

  5. To improve my speaking, I will really learn to to think what I am going to stay, before I say it. Concentration, and visualizing what I will look like in front of a crowd will help me prepare. I should speak a little slower, and I should take a moment to think of another way to say a sentence, without using like, um or sorta. I should move around more inside of a room, and use pauses to recall thoughts.
